This class provides a wonderful overview of the entire range of
scientific inquiry and a superb introduction to the world of science in
general and some of the specific sciences that students will explore for
years to come. Topics include a brief history of science; the
scientific method; how to analyze and interpret experiments; the
distinction between science, applied science, and technology; astronomy;
geology and paleontology; (the five-kingdom system); marine life; and
ecology. The authors of the text do nothing to hide their Christian
viewpoint and, indeed, seek to use the scientific evidence to advance a
student's faith in the Bible and a Christian worldview. The course
includes lots of hands-on experiments.
